1. Motivation - Making a date and booking in a class with a friend keeps you motivated and consistent. It's much easier to cancel your workout plans just for yourself but you are far less likely to ditch a friend. We are also more compliant when we are helping others as it creates the 'happy hormone' oxytocin, so knowing you are supporting your friend by just showing up to train makes you happier too!
2. Healthy competition - As well as motivating each other, taking class with a friend also encourages you to push past your comfort zone. A little competition isn't a bad thing, so working out with a friend can fire up that competitive streak and improve your results.
3. Better choices throughout the day - From post-workout catch-ups over a juice or healthy brunch, to conversations and note swapping after class, working out with a friend helps encourage you to continue your healthy habits for the rest of the day.
