Niki Rein
NIKI REIN – FOUNDER & CEO

Niki has spent her professional life turning fitness into a lifestyle and has spent over a decade working with clients to get their bodies in balance through exercise, clean eating and healthy living. Her love affair with the fitness industry began in 2000 when she started teaching yoga which led her to dance-based conditioning exercise.

When she moved to London in 2009 she saw the need for barre fitness so she began teaching small classes in Chelsea until the demand lead her to open barrecoreCHELSEA in November 2011.

To advance her expertise in creating a way of life for her clients, Niki has achieved certification in Charles Poliquin BioSignature Modulation Levels 1 and 2, REPS Level 3 Advanced Fitness Instructor, REPS Level 3 Personal Trainer, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Garuda Apparatus Certification and holds a barre certification with esteemed veteran instructor Debbie Frank, the US-based International Instructor Trainer for Exhale Core Fusion.

What do you love about barrecore?
The community barrecore has created is what truly inspires me to do what I do. I just love that clients, staff and instructors like to hang out in the space. Oh…and how quickly we change bodies is pretty awesome too!

Favourite barrecore move and why?
I like standing split. Not only does it look pretty but it feels incredible on the spine, lengthens the psoas and hamstrings and is great at creating a perky rear end.

Most adored London hotspot?
My husband, dog (Bruno) and I frequent The Orange in Pimlico. It’s close to home and serves up incredible local and seasonal foods. Their menu is also easy to go gluten/grain free.

Favourite health food?
I am obsessed with Raw Ecstacy Almond Butter. It’s sprouted gut friendly goodness is DELISH!

And your ultimate guilty pleasure?
Good dark chocolate (Montezuma, Artisan du Chocolate or Amelia Rose)….always. I never stray.

she joined the Graduate Intoto Company. As a dancer, choreographer and performer she has worked in London and abroad; in a range of different disciplines and for a mix of different clients and shows.

In 2011 Louisa joined the Tracy Anderson Method and worked for two years as a trainer in London and the States. Since leaving she has been studying with STOTT Pilates and is currently on the Essential and Intermediate Mat Plus Course.
Fitness and health have always been part of her life and through a friend she was introduced to barrecore. This barre method combined with barrecore’s positive and fresh outlook simply meant it was love at first tuck, pulse and hold!

What do you love about barrecore?
I love this method for the positivity, the challenge, the change and strength it offers.

Favourite barrecore move and why?
I’m torn between several but Standing Pretzel is ranking highly. The deep outer thigh and seat focus with the added core benefits – genius!

The the views, food and drink from Duck and Waffle at Heron Tower. London looks great from up there and the menu is Paleo and gluten free friendly too.

Favourite health food?
Savoury choice is Rawalicious’s Tomato Pizza Crackers. Sweet option is LoveRaw’s Rosehip and Lemon Superfood energy bar.

Rod Buchanan
ROD BUCHANAN

Rod was born in Scotland and left Glasgow at 16 for the bright lights of NYC where he studied dance at the Alvin Ailey American dance centre. He has lived in London for the past thirteen years. Rod started his dancing career in the West End and has gone on to work in film and TV. His credits include dancing for Kylie Minogue, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera and Emma Bunton as well as Phantom of the Opera and Kinky Boots.

I love the full body work out which is consistently varied and never dull!

What do you love about Barrecore?
I love the sense of community at Barrecore. Everyone comes into class and supports each other, especially through those last 10 seconds of thighs! It’s a great technique and the sense of achievement you get after each class is the best feeling!

Favorite Barrecore move and why?
I love the plank section, in particular the side planks! I like that pulled up feeling you get when you have finished your plank section. When you stand up, you feel ready and raring to go!

Most adored London hotspot?
Covent Garden! It is full of the history of London and there is so much happening there. You can just sit and watch the world go by- there’s never a dull moment! The shops are also a good distraction too!

I love chicken! I could eat it all day and all night!

blossomed over the years. Since graduating, Nicky has performed on Britain’s Got Talent, on stage at West End Live and has appeared as a featured artist in several commercials across the world. After injury, Nicky explored various exercise techniques to help her recover. She believes in the benefits of barrecore with its revolutionary techniques, enabling everybody to feel strong, healthy and supported in a small community.

Why do you love barrecore?
I love barrecore because of its beauty and escapism. You have no choice but to surrender all stress and worries from the outside world whilst you are tucking, pulsing and shaking your body in to shape. It is therapeutic as well as life enhancing, barrecore is a positive community which encourages everyone to be their personal best.

Favourite barrecore move and why?
L Shape – yes it is a challenge because it chisels away at the sides of the legs, and is an unusual position, but once in place you feel elegant and strong.

Favourite London hot spot?
Hyde Park – amongst the chaos of the city lies a patch of green where I can just chill… Bliss.

Coconut water – it helps take away that sweet craving and is so good for you… Bonus!!

In 2013 Charlie graduated from Middlesex University, with a BA (HONS) in ‘Performing Arts Management.’ This then led her to create her unique micro business teaching private dance sessions to dance schools around London, one to one dance classes, party bookings and first wedding dances.

What do you love about barrecore?
Firstly, you feel amazing afterwards and I love how quickly you see the results in your body.

Forearm foldover because you get to rest your head on the barre so you can totally focus on your seat muscles. Any exercise which lifts my seat area is a friend of mine!

Covent Garden – my mum use to take me all the time as a child to go and watch the ballet and Musicals. It always has such great energy no matter the weather or time of day and I always feel so at home.

Avocados! I could eat them all day and I make a mean Guacamole.

Guildford School of Acting. It was shortly after this that she was asked by the clothing brand Sweaty Betty to teach their ‘Get Fit For Free’ campaign in association with barrecore. Tash fell in love with the barrecore style that used her dancer’s brain and technique and was delighted when they announced they were auditioning for new instructors.
When not at barrecore Tash loves to bake and try out new ingredients and recipes. She admits to sometimes missing dancing everyday but barrecore keeps her in touch with her dance side, while still allowing time for work as an actress. The perfect combo!

What do you love about barrecore?
I always leave feeling energised after a class or teaching, and I ache the next day which means I’ve done a good workout!

Favourite barrecore move and why?
Standing Pretzel – everything feels stretched in multiple ways and it provides the ultimate seat burn out!

For the day- Sanctuary Spa, ultimate relaxation! For the night- Bar Nightjar – a 1920s style bar in Old Street, unusual cocktails and exciting music nights! Always an excuse to dress up.

juggle, however I then expanded on my private clients, some of who I have trained every week for 4 years. I love researching and finding new ways to exercise the body and this is how I found Barrecore. I started out as a client and loved the constant challenges that every class brought. Now that I have trained to be an Instructor I love barrecore even more, understanding the science and reasons behind what you do makes it all the more amazing.

What do you love about barrecore?
The fact that every single class is a different challenge every time. There’s always scope to push yourself further no matter what your fitness level is.

Incline Chair in the thigh section, I love the feel of it and love the fact that it works the biceps and thighs simultaneously. I also love Vertical Spine in the seat
section, the small but intense moves are a killer!

I would probably have to say Chelsea, I love the Kings Road, the Albert Bridge is my favourite along the Thames and the shopping is great. Also it is the home of barrecore, so basically Chelsea has everything that you need.
